This 1.5 hour Sleep Education consultation is an educational discussion that reviews important information about sleep science as it relates to the developmental needs of newborns (0-4 months). Families will find confidence in this knowledge and it will bring more balance to your days and nights during the newborn phase.
Babies age 0-4 months are not developmentally ready for sleep coaching. In fact one could consider the first three to four months of their life as a 4th trimester, very much depending on the regulatory system of their caregiver to organize their world. Although Sleep Training is not appropriate for babies until the age of 6 months, because their brain has yet to develop the ability to learn the skills of how to fall asleep and put themselves back to sleep if waking in the night, there are still many tools one can begin to practice with babies under the age of 6 months towards creating a foundation that helps babies reach their optimal sleeping rhythms with each month. In some cases beginning with these sleep tools and coping strategies, babies may not actually need to sleep train by the time they are sleeping for longer stretches and are developmentally ready because a foundation will have already been established.
